• Pull up close enough to the gas station’s air pump so that the hose can reach all four tires.
• Find out the proper air pressure for your tires (see below on how to do that)
• Remove the cap from the valves on the tires you wish to inflate and keep the caps where they won’t get lost. Do this before turning on the machine, since the machine is on a timer and this step will help you make sure you have enough time to inflate all of the tires.
• Insert your payment into the machine, if required.
• Some machines will allow you to set the specific PSI, or air pressure, for your tire before pumping. Make sure to set it to the correct pressure.
• Attach the hose snugly to the tire’s valve stem.
• Check your tire’s air pressure with a tire gauge once inflated. The pump may have a tire gauge, but it’s good to double-check with your own gauge, which can be bought inexpensively at any auto parts store.
• Repeat this process for the other tires.
• Remember to screw the caps back on all of the tires!
